On my gratitude list: Truong & Ross

I’m in my second semester of the MFA program at SFSU and taking a poetry class with a totally awesome professor, Truong Tran, (buy his book here). I’m pretty sure I'm the only non-poet in there and it’s scary and sometimes embarrassing and the teacher always calls on me because he used to be afraid to talk in class so he seeks out the awkward people to usher them out of their silence the way someone did for him once.

We've been reading Ross Gay's book Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude which I highly recommend. If you haven't read his work (or read his work lately), check him out.
