Getting Real

I’m afraid if I go back to work full time and get this job I’m going to fail really badly. I like to console myself by imagining the plastic surgery I could hypothetically buy if I had my own money. Not necessarily a great investment, but if you spend enough time on the Real Self website looking at befores and afters, it becomes clear that every body part could use some improvement.

The really weird thing that I didn’t know about until I watched several videos by doctor Marco Imelda, I’m not sure if that's his name or a former dictator’s, is that people are having all kinds of crazy surgeries. Like you name it, this doctor will fix it. Things that I didn’t even realize were deformities are getting makeovers. It’s a little gross, a little spooky, a little bit depressing. How do the standards of beauty keep getting anteed up and up and up?

Once again, this reminds me that mother nature might have had a good idea with high mortality rates during childbirth. Yes, those kids all become motherless children but at least those moms didn’t have to wonder whether their labias needed shortening. I think I need to lay off the Real Self app.
